Tour de Romandie: Pogacar defends yellow jersey

Cycling superstar Tadej Pogacar continues to dominate the Tour de Romandie in Switzerland.

A fourth place on the third stage was enough for the 27-year-old Slovenian to defend the yellow jersey of the overall leader ahead of the German Florian Lipowitz.

The stage win after 176,6 kilometers with start and finish in Orbe was secured by the Frenchman Dorian Godon in a sprint ahead of Finn Fisher-Black from New Zealand and the Frenchman Valentin Paret-Peintre.

Pogacar continues to lead the overall standings by 17 seconds over 25-year-old Lipowitz. The four-time Tour de France winner has already celebrated two stage victories at the Tour de Romandie.

A challenging mountain stage awaits the riders on Saturday. The fourth stage covers 149,6 kilometers and 3.175 meters of elevation gain from Broc to Charmey. The peloton will have to cross the Jaun Pass, at an altitude of 1.508 meters, three times. The Tour de Romandie concludes on Sunday in Leysin.
