From Franzoni to Wierer: These stars were there

The 39th edition of the Maratona dles Dolomites took place on Sunday. A total of 8.008 participants took part – including some stars of the sports world.

At the starting point in La Villa, traditionally opened by Michil Costa on his vintage bicycle, the long, colorful line of cyclists set off towards Campolongo. Also among them was... Dorothea Wierer. Together with her younger sister Magdalena, who also competed in biathlon in her youth, Wierer completed the 55-kilometer course, the classic Sellaronda loop, finishing in Corvara. Wierer has clearly not lost her passion for sports – and especially for road cycling.

But Wierer wasn't the only participant. The Italian ski stars were also there. Mattia Casse and Kitzbühel winner John Franzoni They endured the hardships. MotoGP champion was also there for the first time. George MartinThe Spaniard currently leads the overall standings in the premier class of motorcycle racing. He was joined by Italy's winter sports athletes. Miro Tabanelli (Freestyle) Arianna Sighel (Shorttrack) as well as the former winner of the Giro d'Italia Vincenzo Nibali.
