Sprinter Wiebes relegated her compatriot Marianne Vos to second place. Vos successfully defended her yellow jersey and is now twelve seconds ahead of Mauritian Kimberley Le Court Pienaar and Wiebes, who extended her lead in the sprint standings with her second consecutive stage win.

Demi Vollering from the Netherlands, co-favorite and winner of the 2023 Tour de Femmes, who crashed on Monday, finished with the peloton.

For the pure sprinters, the ride from Saumur to Poitiers was likely their last chance for a stage win. The route profile will become more challenging in the coming days.
