75 horses to admire in Untermais

The third race day of the summer meeting will take place in Merano on Sunday. The race track opens at 14.30:16.05 p.m. and the competitions start at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.

The focus of the program is the Bolzano Prize, a flat race over 16.500 meters with prize money of 2.400 euros, in which six horses take part. In total, no fewer than 75 horses from Poland, the Czech Republic and Italy will take part in the seven daily competitions.

Masterwin from the Allegria racing stable is a horse with an illustrious history that will be presented in the Bolzano Prize. The stallion took an excellent third place in the Italian Derby four years ago, but was then repeatedly set back due to injuries. Salvatore Sulas will climb into the saddle of the horse.

The line-up of his competitors is led by Soprano Pechino, who recently showed signs of improving form with a second place in Milan. Champion jockey Dario Vargiu rides Bruno Grizzetti's protégé. Norton also has good previous performances. The gelding, trained by Andrea Manuele, will race with the experienced rider Luca Maniezzi in the saddle.

Live music and delicacies

The breaks between the races are filled with live musical performances by the duo Luise Lutt & Michele Giro. Children have the opportunity to ride ponies. For an additional charge on the ticket, a tour of the racecourse can be booked, which takes place at 15 p.m. In the evening, various pizzas are prepared on the ground floor from 18 p.m.
