The Grand Prix of Merano South Tyrol has lost its defending champion. Yesterday at 10.30 a.m. it was confirmed that First Of All would not be taking part. So, on Sunday, 12 horses from 5 nations, led by serial winner L'Estran, will take on the 5000-meter course of Italy's most important steeplechase.

85 horses from five nations will be competing in the 12th Grand Prix of Merano South Tyrol. Record winner L'Estran leads the strong field, while three Frenchmen are hoping for a surprise. But defending champion First Of All is missing - an unexpected twist in the battle for the prestigious victory.
