Red carpet for sports stars in Kastelruth

The Seiser Alm Dolomites region celebrated its successful athletes at the “Sportler Abends – Feiere mit Champions” (Athletes' Evening – Celebrating with Champions) on Friday in the village square of Kastelruth. Before a large audience in the historic town center, the focus was on sporting achievements from across the region – from up-and-coming athletes and individual successes to top international performances and Olympic gold medals.

The evening honored outstanding achievements by athletes, teams, Team Seiser Alm, and Olympic participants from the region. A special focus was placed on promoting young talent and recognizing consistently high-performing athletes.

Among the emotional highlights were the farewells to natural track luger Patrick Pigneter, ice hockey player Florian Wieser and freestyle skier Samuel Pattis, who have ended their sporting careers.

Sporting achievements from the past season were also highlighted: Felix Wegscheider impressed in Supermoto with four consecutive victories. The performances of the curling teams from ASC Seiser Alm and ASV Völs am Schlern, as well as the Running Team Seiser Alm of LG Schlern, were also recognized.

Another item on the agenda was the awards ceremony for Team Seiser Alm. Among those honored were up-and-coming athletes such as Lotte Mulser (natural track luge), Felix Fulterer (freestyle snowboard), Leon Haselrieder (artificial track luge), Rafael Mahlknecht (telemark skiing), Tobias Paur (natural track luge), and X-Alps participant Tobias Grossrubatscher – all for their outstanding sporting achievements.

Special recognition was also given to the Olympians and other athletes of Team Seiser Alm: Florian Schieder, Sandra Robatscher, Aaron March, Anna Trocker and Maria Gasslitter, who impressed with their Olympic participation and consistently strong performances in recent seasons.

An absolute highlight of the evening was the honoring of the Olympic champions in luge from Cortina 2026, Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer, whose success sparked particular enthusiasm in the audience.

The Athlete's Evening was organized by Seiser Alm Marketing in cooperation with the sports clubs ASC Seiser Alm, ASV Völs am Schlern, ASV Tiers, and the Seiser Alm Ski Team. The event takes place every two years, rotating between the villages of the Schlern region, and aims to recognize the outstanding sporting achievements of local athletes while simultaneously motivating children and young people to pursue their own sporting path in the region.
