Rowing medals for Italy and Germany

Italy continues to deliver at the Olympic Games in Paris. On Wednesday, a medal was added in rowing. But Germany was also able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Luca Chiumento, Giacomo Gentili, Andrea Panizza and Luca Rambaldi won silver for Italy in the men's quadruple sculls. Only the rowers from the Netherlands did better. Bronze went to Poland. The Azzurri were on course for gold until the last 250 metres. For Italy, this is the 12th medal (3x gold, 5x silver and 4x bronze) in Paris.

The German Rowing Association also celebrated a celebrated success on the first final day of the Olympic regatta, winning bronze. A courageous performance in the final brought the women's quadruple sculls third place.

The boat, which included stroke Pia Greiten, Maren Völz, Tabea Schendekehl and Leonie Menzel, only had to admit defeat to the competition from Great Britain and the Netherlands in the Stade Nautique east of Paris. Germany now has a total of three medals in Paris. Two of them were gold.
