US rapper Snoop Dogg will once again report as an Olympic Games correspondent. Following his highly acclaimed debut at last year's Summer Games in Paris, the 53-year-old musician will also be on duty at the Winter Games in Italy next February, according to the US broadcaster NBC Snoop Dogg will once again commentate on competitions and participate in events with his unique and humorous style.
"The Olympic Games are the biggest stage in the world. And as everyone knows, I'm all about sports, about bringing people together, uniting them, and having fun at the same time," said the US megastar. "I'll be bringing my puffer jackets, snow pants, goggles, and skates," added Snoop Dogg. And he'll "definitely be skating on ice." The Olympic Games begin on February 6 with the Opening Ceremony and end on February 22.

The TV station NBC had hired Snoop Dogg for better ratings. And it really paid off, as the rapper delivered unforgettable images during his three weeks in Paris. Among other things, the Californian carried the Olympic torch along the Seine in Paris, danced with the US gymnasts led by superstar Simone Biles, appeared in a riding outfit at the dressage competition, received fencing lessons, and even took swimming lessons from US swimming star Michael Phelps. The TV ratings thus rose NBC compared to the Olympic Games in Tokyo by almost 80 percent.
Rapper is expected to once again ensure high TV ratings
But the US broadcaster paid a lot for this. Snoop Dogg reportedly received around $500.000 per day, which amounted to $8 million for 16 days of the Olympics alone. He also reportedly received a fee and a TV ratings bonus. Snoop Dogg, co-owner of the Welsh second-division soccer team Swansea City since July, thrilled more than just fans with his performances in the French capital. The New York Times called him "NBC's new voice of the people." For his debut as a TV pundit and sports commentator, Snoop Dogg even shared an Emmy, the world's most prestigious television award, with Martha Stewart. Snoop Dogg was already working as an Olympic reporter in 2021, although at that time he was still based in the studio in the USA and not on-site.
