Alcaraz: “I know how to beat Djokovic”

Tomorrow, Sunday, there will be a repeat of last year's final at the glorious Wimbledon tournament: Carlos Alcaraz against Novak Djokovic. Back then, the Spaniard won after five hard-fought sets. Will he be able to do it again this year?

After two intense weeks, the final in Wimbledon will take place tomorrow (from 15 p.m.). Carlos Alcaraz ( he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals) and Novak Djokovic, who defeated Sinners buddy Lorenzo Musetti in three sets.

Both players are world class, especially on grass. The two faced each other in the Wimbledon final last year, when Alcaraz won after five sets. This year, it will be an exciting match as well. "I've played against Novak many times, I know how to beat him," said Alcaraz before Sunday's match. "But I'm also sure that he knows how to beat me."

Strong despite knee surgery

Djokovic, who is currently ranked second in the world, was written off by critics and experts before the tournament. As is well known, he had to undergo knee surgery a few weeks ago after injuring himself at the French Open. But the Serb showed once again why he is still one of the best tennis players in the world despite being 37 years old, and promptly made it to the final.

Djokovic is chasing his 25th (!) Grand Slam title. He already holds the sole record for most titles at major tournaments, but he still wants to bag title number 25. Carlos Alcaraz, on the other hand, wants to win the double of French Open and Wimbledon. So far, the 21-year-old has won three Grand Slam titles.

“High level of self-confidence”

"I go into the final knowing that I am playing tennis at the highest level and that I am moving well on the court. And I have gained a high level of self-confidence," added Alcaraz.
