Catwalk instead of tennis court: Jannik Sinner's fashion detour

From the training ground in Monte Carlo to the Milan catwalk and on to China. That is Jannik Sinner's program for the next few days.

Jannik Sinner's short break after the US Open triumph is over. After his four-day holiday at home in the Pustertal and the detour to the Davis Cup in Bologna, the world's best tennis player has resumed training.

On Sunday, Sinner travelled from Bologna to Monte Carlo with his coach Simone Vagnozzi. He is currently preparing there for the upcoming hard court tournaments in Beijing, Shanghai, Vienna and Paris-Bercy. For the first time, he will be there: Sinner's new athletic trainer Marco Panichi.

At the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing last year, the South Tyrolean defeated both Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev and, with his tournament victory, made it into the top 4 of the world rankings for the first time. The tournament in China's capital begins on September 26th.

Milan is waiting for Sinner

Before heading to the Middle Kingdom, however, Sinner has a somewhat different appointment planned: the tennis superstar is expected at the Fashion Week in Milan in the next few days. There he will sit in the front row in front of the catwalk and look at the latest collections from his sponsor Gucci.

The 23-year-old has been a brand ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion company for some time. Most recently at the US Open, he attracted a lot of attention when he stepped onto the tennis court with a new sports bag that Gucci designed in collaboration with the sporting goods manufacturer Head.

For Sinner, the jump into the fashion world is a last welcome change before the end of the season, when he has to cement his lead in the world rankings and tackle the last two big highlights in the best possible shape: the ATP Finals in Turin (November 10th to 17th) and the Davis Cup finals in Malaga (November 19th to 24th).
