The two Spanish tennis stars Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz lost in the quarterfinals against the Americans Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram 2:6, 4:6.
This ended Nadal's hopes of winning his third Olympic gold medal on his beloved Court Philippe-Chatrier after his singles triumph in 2008 in Beijing and his doubles victory in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. It was also likely to be his last match at the Olympic Games.

In the singles, Nadal lost the giant duel with Serbian record Grand Slam tournament winner Novak Djokovic at the Summer Games in France.
Was that it?
Given his numerous physical injuries, it is unlikely that Nadal will return to Paris for the French Open next year. After his singles exit, however, the record champion at Roland Garros left that open. "I want to do my best every day. If I decide I don't want to play anymore, I'll let you know," said the 38-year-old.Edit Profile
