Rafael Nadal impresses before the Olympics

Tennis star Rafael Nadal is in the quarterfinals of the ATP clay court tournament in Båstad, Sweden.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner from Spain defeated Briton Cameron Norrie 6-4,6, 4-1 on Thursday, overcoming a 4-38 deficit in the second set. Nadal, who now faces Argentinian Mariano Navone, seems to be getting back into the rhythm just in time for the Olympics. The XNUMX-year-old skipped Wimbledon to prepare for the games in Paris.

"I haven't played much so far, so matches and wins like today help," Nadal explained. "Being in rhythm throughout the match and keeping the pressure on the opponent is something I need to improve because I haven't played enough."
At the Olympic Games, Nadal will return to the clay on which he won the French Open 14 times. In doubles, he will play alongside Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz. The Olympic tennis tournament will take place from July 27 to August 4 at Roland Garros.
