Disappeared without a trace: the mystery surrounding Italy's tennis beauty

The Masters 1000 tournament, one of the big highlights for Italy's tennis fans, is currently taking place in Rome. But now, of all times, a star player from the boot state has disappeared without a trace. The whole tennis world is asking itself: What just happened?

Where is Camila Giorgi? And what happened to her? This is the question that fans, newspapers and even the women's players' association, the WTA, are currently asking in Italy. Giorgi, who has won four titles in her career and has a best ranking of 26th place, seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth - after a strange announcement.

A few days ago a sensational report made the rounds. Camila Giorgi is said to have ended her tennis career at the age of 32. Giorgi, who also works as a model, did not announce this on social networks or in an interview, no: her name was only listed on the official website “Tennis Integrity Agency” among the athletes who resigned. “Resignation on May 7th,” it says.

The cell phone number is inactive

This is a report that made waves in Italy. And after which newspapers, Italy's tennis association and also the women's players' association, i.e. the WTA, tried to get a statement from Giorgi. But there is no trace of her. “Nobody knows where Camila Giorgi is. Her cell phone number is inactive, dad's and family members' phones are also off. There is also no trace of her brother Amadeus, who was most recently responsible for public relations,” she writes Sports Gazette.

On the one hand, this mysterious disappearance causes concern for the tennis player, but on the other hand it also triggers speculation. Does Giorgi have any problems with the tax office? Or is her disappearance related to a possible court case? At the end of 2022 it became known that the 32-year-old was targeted by the police because of a fake corona vaccination certificate. But at the moment this is all just speculation. We can only hope that Camila Giorgi and her family are doing well.
