Almost 100 men and 25 women took part in the event, which provided numerous highlights and exciting matches. TC Meran in particular showed its dominance and won both the men's and women's competitions. In the men's competition, top seed Mattia Agosti (TC Meran) won with ease. Without losing a single set, he clearly defeated TC Rungg talent Leonardo Tiego (TC Rungg) 6:1, 6:3 in the final and secured the title. For Agosti, it was a welcome revenge after losing to Alessio Ravanelli in the final in Tramin a week ago. This time, he left no doubt about his superiority.
TC Meran was also able to triumph in the women's competition: Gloria Endrizzi, who was successful in Tramin last week, also dominated in Rungg and lost only six games on her way to the title. In the final, she gave her opponent, local hero Laura Psenner (TC Rungg), no chance with a 6:2, 6:0 victory, thus confirming her impressive form.
Winner Mattia Agosti and finalist Leonardo Tiego.
The outstanding performances of the two Rungg players Leonardo Tiego and Laura Psenner, who made it to the finals in their home tournaments, deserve special recognition. Despite their defeats, they presented themselves strongly and offered courageous resistance to the favorites.
Another highlight was the final of the fourth men's category, in which Alex Romaner (TC Pineta) prevailed in a nerve-wracking match against Daniel Berger. After a 2:6 in the first set, Romaner turned the game around, won the second set 6:2 and won the match tiebreak 10:6.
Positive conclusion
The organizers, including chief referee Roland Meliss and the Gasbarri brothers' team, received a lot of praise for their excellent work, especially considering the adverse weather conditions that made the tournament a real challenge. Thanks to their commitment, the competition was successful and ran smoothly.Edit Profile
