South Tyrol's table tennis aces impress

Numerous matches took place last weekend in the respective national and international championships. South Tyrol's athletes put on a good performance.

In the women's A1 division, ASV TT Südtirol lost 1-3 against Sassari. Gaia Monfardini scored one point, while the team had to do without Debora Vivarelli, who was participating in a WTT Contender tournament in Tunisia.


In the B1 league, ASC Sarnthein played at home against Sarmeola and won 5-4 thanks to two victories by Martin Unterhauser and Andrea Pacileo. Jonas Unterweger also contributed a point.

In the men's C1 division, there were two all-South Tyrolean matches. ASV TT Südtirol B won 5-3 against Milland. Filippo Rossetto, who secured three points, along with Alex Muck and Jan Leonhard Bucci, were responsible for the victory. ASV TT Südtirol A faced ASV Tramin, with the team from the lower Adige Valley winning 5-2. Florian Maier, Egon Bertignoll, and Michael Florian secured the decisive victories.

Vivarelli and Piccolin in Tunisia

Vivarelli and Giorgia Piccolin, mentioned earlier, participated in the WTT Contender tournament in Tunis. Vivarelli started with group wins against the Turkish players Nour Brahimi and Elee Abassi, both by a score of 3-0, and a loss against Franziska Schreiner from Germany (0-3). Piccolin, however, lost in the first round against the Indian player Sutirtha Mukherjee by a score of 2-3.
