Hundreds of athletes are expected at the Kalterersee Triathlon.

The 37th edition of the International Lake Kaltern Triathlon kicks off on Saturday at Lake Kaltern. Over 450 athletes from Italy and abroad are expected to participate in this traditional classic race over the Olympic distance. The program includes a 1,5 km swim, a 40 km bike ride, and a 10 km run.

At the official presentation held at Internorm's headquarters in Bolzano, the organizers looked forward to the race with great anticipation. The battle for the top spots promises to be particularly exciting. Among the men, Federico Murero, Luca Barbagallo, Stefano Detassis, and former winner Daniel Hofer are among the favorites. From an Austrian perspective, hopes rest on Thomas Steger.

The women's race also boasts a top-class field. Strong competitors like Ilaria Zane, Elisabetta Stocco, and Federica Frigerio will be at the starting line. From a South Tyrolean perspective, Lena Göller of KSV Triathlon and Iris Reif are the main focus.

The organizers also emphasized the great importance of the volunteers, without whose efforts an event of this magnitude would not be possible.
