The competition was for nothing less than the world championship title. In the end, France emerged victorious. A sweet bonus: this triumph secured the first ticket for the 2028 Summer Olympics for the French. Hungary finished in second place, and Great Britain in third.

Italy came away empty-handed: The Azzurri finished in 11th place. Euan De Nigro, from South Tyrol, was also among the competitors. The Brixen native was unlucky, as he was slowed down by a flat tire.
