World Cup start: Steinhauser has room for improvement

The 2024 Triathlete World Championships have begun! The start took place on Saturday in Yokohama, Japan, with Verena Steinhauser, who still has some room for improvement.

In the first competition, which is part of the 2024 World Championships, Steinhauser only took 1,5rd place after 40 km swimming, 10 km cycling and 23 km running. The 29-year-old from Brixen expected a lot more. The gap to the winner Leonie Periault was almost four minutes. The best Italian in Japan was Bianca Seregni, who came in 13th place.

Steinhauser dreams of the Olympic Games in Paris, and the chances of being there are not bad for South Tyrol's best triathlete. The triathlon world class continues on May 25th with the World Cup race in Cagliari.
