Meran's young swimmers shine in Verona

It was a weekend full of emotions and challenges for the A-Group of Sportclub Merano, which took part in the prestigious third Trofeo Città di Verona, held at the Monte Bianco swimming pool.

The event, which featured numerous teams from Lombardy, Trentino, South Tyrol and Veneto, offered the young athletes from Merano a valuable opportunity to compete with other swimmers and teams outside the national competition circuit.

With a team of 15 children in the Candidate A category, the SCM once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting the sporting and personal development of its athletes. At the end of the competitions reserved for Candidate A, the Merano Sports Club took 10th place in the team ranking with a total of 52 points.

In addition to numerous personal best times, the young athletes from Merano were also able to win several medals: Silvia Pozzato shone in the 100 meter butterfly and won a well-deserved silver medal, while Laurin Markt also won silver in the 100 meter breaststroke.

Special praise goes to the 4x50-meter freestyle mixed relay team with Sliusarchuk, Nikolov, Pompili and Sorrenti, who finished in a respectable 7th place and underlined the team spirit and determination of the entire group.

The coaches of the Merano Sport Club were satisfied with the results, both in terms of individual performances and the team result. The next date for the candidate group is the Trofeo di Natale - the competition is part of the national competition calendar, followed by participation in the Trofeo Babbo Natale in Bassano, another important step for the sporting and competitive development of the young swimmers.
