World champion Cerasuolo returns to Merano

The Cool Swim Meeting celebrates its tenth edition from June 19th to 21st at the Merano Lido – and presents itself stronger than ever.

At today's press conference, a top-class field of participants was announced: Among them is world champion Simone Cerasuolo, who returns to Merano after his record-breaking performance last year. Freestyle record holder Carlos D'Ambrosio will also be competing for the first time.

The Italian Swimming Federation is sending a strong delegation of 21 athletes, including seven swimmers who have already qualified for the European Championships in Paris. International stars such as Brazilian sprint specialist Guilherme Caribé Santos are also expected.

The Cool Swim Meeting was presented on Friday.

The meet remains part of the World Aquatics calendar and will once again be broadcast live on RaiSport. New features include a higher prize purse of €25.300, additional LED lighting around the poolside, and a new spectator stand.

The Italian national team will hold a training camp in Merano starting on June 15th. A large lottery and various events are also planned in Merano's old town to celebrate the anniversary.
