Verzotto did not win a medal in the individual event

Two days ago, Julian Verzotto won the silver medal in synchronized diving from the 10-meter platform at the European Championships in Belgrade (Serbia). Two days later, he was unable to repeat his success in the individual event.

On Sunday morning, he qualified for the final of the best 12. He missed out by a long way, coming in 14th. The reason for this was a completely botched third jump, in which he was not awarded a single point by the judges. The gap was then too big to hope for a miracle. Francesco Casalini, with whom Verzotto had won the silver medal in synchronized diving, made it into the final in seventh place.

However, it was not enough for a top placing in the final, and Casalini had to settle for eleventh place. The victory went to the Briton Robby Lee with 489,45 points. The Spaniard Carlos Camacho del Hoyo (432,70) and Lee's compatriot Ben Cutmore (429,90) completed the podium.
