Auchentaller starts with a solid placement

The start of the European Biathlon Championships took place on Wednesday in Osrblie, Slovakia. Hannah Auchentaller started with a solid placing.

Hanna Auchentaller still had to watch the home World Cup from the stands. She was not included in the squad. She is now in action at the European Biathlon Championships. The individual competition took place on Wednesday, and the Antholz native took 15th place with two shooting errors.


In the end she was three minutes behind the Norwegian winner Maren Kirkeeide, who prevailed against Alina Stremous (Molawia) and Ema Kapustova (Slovakia). Another South Tyrolean, Linda Zingerle, took part and came in 68th place. The best Italian was Beatrice Trabucchi in 8th place.

Norway dominates among the men

In the men's event there was a Norwegian five-way victory, led by Vebjörn Sörum. Silver and bronze went to Johan-Olav Botn and Martin Uldal. David Zingerle (Antholz) and Christoph Pircher (Terlan) finished 43rd and 75th. Daniele Cappellari was the best Azzurro, 21st. The sprint competitions continue in Osrblie on Friday.
