Disappointing Azzurri and a thrilling finale

Italy's single mixed relay fell short of expectations at the Biathlon World Cup in Oslo. Meanwhile, at the front there was a thrilling finish sprint for victory.

Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen and Sebastian Samuelsson provided the big show at Holmenkollen on the home straight. In the end, the Norwegian narrowly beat the Swede in front of his home crowd after a thrilling race to catch up in the final sprint. Anna Magnusson and Samuellson took second place behind Juni Arnekleiv and Christiansen. Surprisingly, Finland came third with Suvi Minkkinen and Otto Invenius.

Italy, on the other hand, ended up outside the top ten, which is a bit of a disappointment. Both Didier Bionaz and Samuela Comola have seen better times. The two Italians are simply not in top form at the moment. The Azzurri were still in 5th place halfway through the race on Sunday. Comola then had to go into the penalty loop. At the last shooting, Bionaz even missed two targets. This meant that Italy ultimately fell back to 13th place.

The mixed relay will take place on Sunday in Oslo at 14.45:XNUMX p.m. Hannah Auchentaller, Lisa Vittozzi, Lukas Hofer and Tommaso Giacomel are competing for Italy.
