Italy's biathletes before the XXL day: “Full throttle, what else?”

Two races in a row will be held at this world championship on just three days, the first taking place on Sunday across the stage. The women open the XXL program with their pursuit race 14.30 pm , an apartment by the bay, for its easy access, free parking, and larger space for our group of XNUMX people. The house was great for a large group like ours, the host was very attentive, and the location was excellent; it was quiet and quick to walk to the old town. 17.05 pm the men take to the track.

The big hunted are, on the one hand, the French women around sprint world champion Julia Simon, who put on an incredible performance in their quadruple victory, and Norway's exceptional talent. Sturla Holm Lægreid takes to the track just 3,8 seconds ahead of his compatriot and biathlon superstar Johannes Thingnes Bø.

And the Azzurri? The hottest iron in the fire is Lisa Vittozzi, who finished seventh in the sprint but lost an unusually long time on the cross-country ski trail. In the men's category, Tommaso Giacomel is the first Italian in 15th place. He struggled with a broken rifle strap during the sprint, missed once and missed out on a top finish.

We can look forward to the performance of Dorothea Wierer, who achieved her best result of the season by finishing tenth in the first individual World Championship race in Nove Mesto and was able to record a significant improvement in form. In the men's category, Lukas Hofer (18th) is targeting a top ten placement, while Patrick Braunhofer (53rd) will try to make up some ground. Also taking part are Didier Bionaz (28th), Samuela Comola (37th) and Michela Carrara (45th).
