No South Tyrolean top rankings in the IBU Cup

While the World Cup elite are competing in the first races of the season in Kontiolahti (Finland), the stars of the future are currently competing in the IBU Cup in Geilo (Norway). The South Tyrolean athletes were denied top places on Wednesday.

The day began with the women's 15-kilometer individual race, which was won by Frenchwoman Camille Bened thanks to a flawless shooting. Norwegian Marit Øygard took second place, 42,2 seconds behind, with Bened's flawless compatriot Fanny Bertrand in third place (+55,9 seconds).

The best Italian was Beatrice Trabucchi, who missed two shots and was 1.25,1 minutes late, finishing seventh. Linda Zingerle missed three times and finished 15th, while Birgit Schölzhorn finished 44th.

Norwegian dominance in the men's

In the men's 20-kilometer race, Norwegian Isak Frey won for the third time in a row. He missed one shot, just like his compatriot Johan-Olav Botn and Simon Kaiser from Germany, who completed the podium. In the end, Frey was 7,5 seconds faster than Botn. Nicolò Betemps was the best Azzurro in ninth place (one mistake). David Zingerle had to settle for 33rd place (3 mistakes), while Christoph Pircher ended up in 52nd place with six missed shots.
