A real biathlon baby is on the way

While the biathlon elite prepares for the new season, a star of the scene will dedicate himself to a new adventure.

“I can hardly wait for what comes next”: With these words, Anais Chevalier-Bouchet said goodbye to the big biathlon stage in March. Now, a few months later, it is clear: What awaits the 30-year-old French woman next is another baby happiness.

Chevalier-Bouchet had already interrupted her career once in 2019 when she gave birth to her daughter Emie. She then returned to the World Cup and ended her career last March. Now the family is growing. Like the French sports portal The Dauphine reports, Chevalier-Bouchet attended the Martin Fourcade Festival, where she presented herself with a round baby bump.

A real biathlon baby is on the way, because Anais' husband Martin Bouchet was also a biathlete and cross-country skier. The Frenchwoman can boast an incredibly large collection of medals. She reached the podium three times at the Olympics, seven times at the World Championships and climbed onto the podium a whopping 42 times in the World Cup – including relay races. Even her maternity break did not have a negative impact on her performance, as she won two medals at the 2022 Olympics.
