Olympia: Dorothea Wierer changes sides

Dorothea Wierer is one of the most sought-after personalities in the Italian sports world. So it is not surprising that the biathlete has now received a very interesting offer.

At the beginning of May, Dorothea Wierer announced that she would continue until the 2026 Olympic Games. Nevertheless, the star biathlete keeps thinking about her career after top-level sport. Should the likeable Niederrasner woman continue as a coach later on, is she aiming for a different role in sport or does she want to concentrate fully on family planning? The world champion probably has a lot of question marks swirling around in her head. In any case, Doro has found a job for the next month that will distract her a little from the preseason: she is changing sides and working for Discovery+ as a TV expert for the Olympic Games in Paris.

It is another step for the adventurous athlete to get to know a still unknown facet of life and to familiarise herself with the sport from a different perspective: “For me it is an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and have a new experience,” says the South Tyrolean in an interview with NeveitaliaTherefore, she did not think twice and accepted the offer from Warner Bros. Discovery to be a correspondent and TV expert in Paris.

The Doro Diary

This means that Doro will play a major role in the three-week broadcast of the Olympic Games, especially in Italy, as the private broadcaster has exclusive rights to broadcast this year's games in the boot-shaped country. The biathlete was given her own section, an Olympic diary called "Parigi Doro", in which she looks behind the scenes and captures the most exciting moments and the voices of the protagonists.
