Baumgartner on course for a top-10 finish at the halfway point

South Tyrolean bobsleigh pilot Patrick Baumgartner is on course for a top-ten finish in the two-man bobsleigh after two runners.

Together with his partner Robert Mircea, Baumgartner is in 9th place after two of four runs. They trail the leading duo Johannes Lochner/Georg Fleischhauer by 1,68 seconds. However, Baumgartner is only 24 hundredths of a second away from the medal positions.

The German bobsledders are likely to be the ones battling it out for the Olympic gold. Behind Lochner/Fleischhauer are currently Francesco Friedrich/Alexander Schuller (+0,80) and Adam Ammour/Alexander Schaller (+1,24).

The grand finale in the two-man bobsleigh will take place on Tuesday starting at 21 pm.
