The 49th Olympian: Alex Verginer is also going to Cortina

Things got heated yesterday. Does South Tyrol have 48 or 49 Olympic athletes? Because when announcing the squad for the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) listed bobsleigh pilot and brakeman Alex Verginer as well as bobsleigh driver Noemi Cavalleri as "reserves".
