The gold medal run was followed by a celebration in the crowd: Bobsleigh pilot Laura Nolte kept her nerve this time and, together with Deborah Levi, once again raced to Olympic glory. Four years after their surprise victory in Beijing, the successful duo remained ice-cold and secured their second Olympic gold in the two-woman bobsleigh in the specially modified men's sled. In the finish area, the monobob silver medalist and her brakewoman were celebrated by fans, who jumped and screamed with unbridled joy.
Lisa Buckwitz, partnered with Neele Schuten, won silver (+0,53 seconds), securing her first Olympic medal as a pilot after her sensational gold in 2018 as Mariama Jamanka's brakewoman. Three-time Olympic champion Kaillie Armbruster-Humphries of the USA, partnered with Jasmine Jones, took bronze (+0,75).
Azzurre are only following behind
Giada Andreutti and Alessia Gatti, an Italian two-woman bobsleigh team, also competed. However, the duo was only in the back of the field and ultimately finished in 20th place (+4,71). The final bobsleigh competition of the 2026 Olympic Games takes place on Sunday. Patrick Baumgartner, from South Tyrol, is also competing in the men's four-man bobsleigh. He has yet to win a medal. Still within reach with two runs to go..Edit Profile
