Terrifying moments in the ice track: Austria's four-man bobsleigh crashes badly.

A sensational accident occurred on Saturday during the four-man bobsleigh competition at the Winter Olympics in Cortina.

Dramatic moments unfolded during the second run in the new Eugenio Monti ice channel: The Austrian team with pilot Jakob Mandlbauer and pushers Daniel Bertschler, Sebastian Mitterer and Daiyehan Nichols-Bardi tipped over during the run and slid almost halfway down the track at high speed.

While the pushers were able to quickly exit the bobsled and apparently remained unharmed, pilot Mandlbauer had to be treated on the track. He was subsequently taken to the hospital. ORF There was already some initial good news – the injuries are thankfully not too serious.

Race interrupted for 20 minutes

The race had to be interrupted for about 20 minutes. Puster Valley driver Patrick Baumgartner and his crew (Lorenzo Bilotti, Eric Fantazzini, and Robert Mircea) are also participating. After the first timed run, the Azzurri are in seventh place.
