Daniel Grassl is competing in the world class

Merano figure skater Daniel Grassl demonstrated his strong form in Grenoble, France.

After a one-year break from competition, Daniel Grassl is back on the big figure skating stage. Thanks to his strong performances at the Grand Prix events in Tokyo and Helsinki, he secured a ticket for the Grand Prix final in Grenoble. Although the Meran native narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth, the 22-year-old proved that he is back in the thick of the world class.

After a solid fifth place in the short program, Grassl showed his skills in the free program on Saturday. He moved up one place, but with a total score of 254,96 points it was not enough for the podium. Nevertheless, it was a strong performance. The victory went to Ilia Malinin from the USA, followed by the Japanese Yuma Kagiyama and Shun Sato.
