The golden couple: Wang also triumphs

With a near-perfect jump, Wang Xindi secured Olympic gold in aerials in Livigno.

China's winning streak in aerials continues: Wang Xindi won Olympic gold in Livigno with 132,60 points. With a jump including five twists, he narrowly beat Swiss world champion Noe Roth (131,58). Bronze went to Wang's compatriot Li Tianma (123,93). This was Wang's first medal after three Olympic appearances.

Particularly emotional: His wife, Xu Mengtao, who had successfully defended her Olympic title just a few days earlier, cheered from the stands. Defending champion Qi Guangpu went home empty-handed after a fall in the super final. China fielded four finalists, once again underlining its dominance in this spectacular discipline.
