Hannes Zingerle was nominated for the Youth Winter Games

Hannes Zingerle will compete in the slalom and giant slalom in Innsbruck. The Gadertaler will replace Edoardo Longo at short notice. Longo, who like Zingerle is 16 years old, was even intended to be the flag bearer for the Italian team, but is now out due to an injury. Zingerle prevailed in the internal duel with Simon Maurberger. The Ahrntaler also had a good chance of being there in North Tyrol. Ultimately, the choice fell on Zingerle.

Hannes Zingerle will carry out all the necessary medical examinations in Rome on Tuesday. Due to his subsequent nomination, eight South Tyroleans will now be in action in Innsbruck from January 13th to 22nd. In addition to Zingerle, the tobogganers Simon Kainzwaldner, Florian Gruber, Daniel Gatterer, Maria Messner and Andrea Vötter, bobsleigh pilot Patrick Baumgartner and the freestyler Patrick Renner are fighting for precious metal.

A total of 1045 athletes between the ages of 15 and 19 will be competing in the capital of North Tyrol, representing 69 nations. By the way, the Youth Winter Games are taking place in Innsbruck for the first time. The 2010 Olympic Games for young athletes celebrated their debut in Singapore in the summer.

Hannes Zingerle was nominated for the Youth Winter Games

The Alpine skier from ASC Ladinia, born in 1995, will take part in the Youth Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck from January 13th to 22nd. The 16-year-old South Tyrolean replaces Edoardo Longo at short notice, who has sustained an injury.
