San Candido and Carezza can plan for their World Cups

While the snowboard elite will stop in Carezza on Thursday, December 14th, the ski cross stars will be in Innichen from Wednesday, December 20th to Friday, December 22nd. In January 2024, the telemarkers will also set up their tents on the Karerpass.

It's an unwritten law: the first World Cup station in South Tyrol is the FIS every winter Snowboard World Cup in Carezza. On Thursday, December 14th, the “Brettlvirtuosen” will race over the steep and pimple-hard Pra di Tori piste in the popular ski area on the Karerpass for the 13th time. The fact that South Tyrol has some figureheads in the snowboard circus makes the renowned event all the more attractive for the many fans of the fascinating sport. After all, Roland Filehner, Edwin Coratti and Nadya Ochner have already demonstrated their skills several times, including or especially at their home World Cup in Carezza. As always, in the days before the World Cup, the gondolas of last year's winners - the Dutch Michelle Dekker and the Austrian Andreas Prommegger won in 2022 - will be inaugurated with a small but no less lavish celebration.

Just a week later, the ski crossers are also heading to South Tyrol. The FIS Ski Cross will take place for the 20th time in San Candido from December 22th to 14nd World Cup in San Candido. At the foot of the Haunold, spectators are once again offered a great spectacle; after all, skicross is not considered one of the most attractive winter sports for nothing. For the “Formula 1 ski drivers” – as the ski crossers are also called – it is the last stop before the Christmas break. After the official training on Tuesday, December 19th, the qualification takes place one day later. The first two races - one each for men and women - are scheduled for Thursday, December 21st, while the high-profile event will conclude on Friday, December 22nd with the final two decisions.

After the turn of the year, another winter sport will come knocking for a World Cup in South Tyrol. After the extremely successful premiere in January of this year, Carezza has also made it onto the World Cup calendar for 2024. From January 17th to 18th, the FIS Telemark World Cup. The Masarè piste was actually only intended as a replacement location for Gerardmer (France) in 2023 because there was too little snow beyond the Alps. Thanks to the smoothly run event and the good feedback from the telemarkers, Carezza 2024 is again on the calendar with two sprint races, the first on Wednesday, January 17th, and the second on Thursday, January 18th.

In addition to the snowboarders, ski crossers and telemarkers, they also wear alpine ski racer, the biathletes and Cross-country skiing World Cup race in South Tyrol.
