Karlsson storms unstoppably towards his second gold.

Swedish skier Frida Karlsson has won her second gold medal in cross-country skiing at the Olympic Games in a spectacular performance.

The 26-year-old distanced herself from the competition in the 10-kilometer freestyle race, finishing in 22:49,2 minutes. Fellow German Ebba Andersson also secured her second silver medal, finishing nearly 47 seconds behind, ahead of American Jessie Diggins, who lay completely exhausted at the finish line for several minutes.

As in the skiathlon and the sprint, the Swedish cross-country skiers dominated the race at will, securing gold and silver. This brings the Scandinavian women's total to three gold, three silver, and one bronze medals in the three cross-country races held so far.

Martina di Centa (20th/+1:55.7 minutes) emerged as the best Italian in the field. She was followed by Caterina Ganz (32nd/+2:23.9), Anna Comarella (46th/+3:11.4), and Maria Gismondi (59th/3:38.4). Sweden is therefore considered the clear favorite in Saturday's relay.
