Nöckler with the Italian relay team on the podium

A sense of achievement for Dietmar Nöckler in the cross-country skiing World Cup. The man from Bruneck only narrowly had to admit defeat in the relay in Oberhof.

Federico Pellegrino had to admit defeat by a whisker in the final sprint. Johannes Kläbo, the Norwegian cross-country skiing superstar, came out on top in the finish and was able to lead his team to victory in the relay race in Oberhof.

Italy's team had to settle for second place, which in and of itself is an outstanding achievement. Nöckler started the race for Italy and showed a strong performance. The South Tyrolean handed over to the young Elia Barp, who was able to hold his own in the top field and send Simone Dapra onto the track. Norway still had two teams in the race, as the Scandinavians' second team also performed well, as did Italy's second team. It stayed that way until the end, when Pellegrino and Kläbo dueled on the home straight.
