North Tyrolean surprises in Falun, finishing third

Benjamin Moser from North Tyrol made it onto the podium as third in the first-ever six-man final of a cross-country sprint world cup.

The 28-year-old only had to concede to Olympic dominator Johannes Hösflot Klæbo and his fellow Norwegian Lars Heggen in the skating technique event in Falun on Saturday. For the man from Maurach, it was the second podium finish of his career; at the end of December, he had finished second in a Tour de Ski stage.

Olympic champion Linn Svahn from Sweden won the women's competition. The skiathlons follow on Sunday.
