Tanel reaches for the crown again this summer

Matteo Tanel is one of the best roller skiers in the world. The athlete from Bronzolo is currently preparing for the upcoming season, where he intends to make a real attack.

This week, the FISI announced the rosters for the upcoming roll-ski competition season, which will once again be seeking the sport's best athletes from July to September. Matteo Tanel is once again in the thick of it. The 32-year-old has consistently finished among the top two in the overall rankings for the past five years, securing the title in 2020 and 2022.

The Branzoller also faced competition from within his own ranks: Tommaso Dellagiacoma will once again be battling for victories alongside his teammate this summer. The athlete from Predazzo won the overall World Cup ahead of Tanel in 2024. Emanuele Becchis from Boves is also still among the contenders for top placings.

However, Tanel was not idle during the winter either: in mid-February, for example, he took over the Victory at the Gsieser Valley Run over the 30-kilometer distance.
