VIDEO | Andersson's somersault in the cross-country relay

There were several falls during the women's cross-country relay race on Saturday. The most spectacular crash involved Sweden's Ebba Andersson – with serious consequences for her team.

Sweden was the overwhelming favorite in Saturday's women's cross-country relay. But then Andersson suffered a spectacular fall. The cross-country superstar somersaulted in the air, breaking one of her skis in the process.

For about a minute, the Swedish skier, who was the second member of her team to start and has already won two silver medals at the current Olympic Games, had to ski with only one ski. Then disaster struck: her ski technician also fell, clutching a ski, and the nearest one was 400 meters away.

Sweden's dream of gold was over. In the end, Frida Karlsson and her teammates managed to win silver.
