“Being back and competing with all of you just feels amazing and warm,” the 20-year-old wrote on Instagram.
Despite a tough start to the competition rhythm, she was satisfied: "I'm quite happy with my comeback, even though the first jumps on snow and two demanding races were quite a challenge for me." While she was in 25th place on Friday, she was able to improve by one place the next day.
Flying high and falling low
In the summer of 2023, fate struck: During a jump training session in Oberhof, Haasch fell on landing and tore the cruciate ligament in her right knee. An operation followed and a long, hard road of rehabilitation began for Haasch. But the 20-year-old did not let herself be discouraged: her goal was clear from the start - to return to the national team and to the top of the world.Haasch returned to the World Cup in Lillehammer. Although the results were not what she had hoped for, the joy of being back outweighed everything. "Thank you and congratulations to the whole team! It's a lot of fun with you," Haasch told her fans on Instagram.
For the Thuringian, who won two gold medals at the OPA Nordic Ski Games in 2019, the comeback in Lillehammer is an important milestone, but only the beginning of her journey. The coming season will show how far she can attack the world's top Nordic combined athletes again.
