Despite retirement: Riiber continues to dominate

Jarl Magnus Riiber took his 77th World Cup victory in Nordic Combined on the first day of the Nordic Combined Triple in Seefeld.

The 27-year-old Norwegian won the mass start (10 km cross-country skiing and one jump) on Friday ahead of Tyrolean Johannes Lamparter and his compatriot Jens Luraas Oftebro. In the women's mass start (5 km and jump), Ida-Marie Hagen also won the seventh competition of the season. Two days after Riiber announced his retirement at the end of the season, the record-breaking World Cup winner once again demonstrated his class.

Immediately after the World Cup two weeks earlier in Schonach, he went to the Tyrolean winter sports resort to train. It paid off. He won 8,0 points ahead of Lamparter and 8,2 points ahead of Oftebro. Aaron Kostner from Val Gardena came in 22nd.
