Not far from the first World Cup podium

Ivan Nagler and Fabian Malleier narrowly missed their first World Cup podium on Saturday in Igls.

After the first run, the two South Tyroleans were in 5th place, but they surged forward with an excellent 2nd run with the second fastest time. They ultimately finished 4th, 0,343 seconds behind the victorious Latvians Martins Bots and Roberts Plume. They won ahead of the Germans Toni Eggert and Florian Müller (+0,179). Third place went to the Austrians Thomas Steu and Wolfgang Kindl (+3).

Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner had to settle for 8th place (+0,828). South Tyrol had already achieved 4th place in the morning: Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer narrowly missed the podium in the women's doubles. (see own report).
