Luge: European Championship bronze for Italy's team relay

The team relay of the European Luge Championships took place in Winterberg on Sunday. The South Tyroleans had a good reason to celebrate.

Bronze for Italy's team relay at the European Championships in Winterberg! The South Tyrolean lugers showed a courageous performance and were only beaten by the "superpowers" Austria (first) and Germany (second), trailing the winners by 0,580 seconds.

Verena Hofer and Dominik Fischnaller competed for the Azzurri in the singles, while the duos Andrea Vötter/Marion Oberhofer and Ivan Nagler/Fabian Malleier took to the ice rink in the doubles. The lugers will continue next weekend: There they will compete for valuable World Cup points in Oberhof, where one race has already taken place this season.
