South Tyrol's lugers are in demand in Winterberg

After artificial track tobogganing traditionally began with the stops in North America (Lake Placid and Whistler), the World Cup team of luge athletes continues next weekend in Winterberg in Germany.

There are two intensive days of competition on the German track. On Saturday, Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer will be in action as soon as the first run of the women's doubles is on the program from 8.55:200 a.m. The South Tyrolean duo, who won the overall World Cup in the discipline's premiere season last year, landed on the podium in Lake Placid and Whistler and now want to celebrate their first victory of the winter in Europe. They are currently fifth in the overall World Cup with 255 points and will try to shorten the gap to leaders Selina Egle/Lara Kipp (XNUMX points).

The same applies to Dominik Filehner. In the men's individual races, no one has been able to do anything against Max Langenhan, who won all three races this season. The German confidently leads the overall standings, while Fischnelller, who won last winter, is hoping for his first podium finish. Leon Felderer and Alex Gufler are the two other top tobogganers in the World Cup.

Ivan Nagler/Fabian Malleier, Emanuel Rieder/Simon Kainzwaldner and Ludwig Rieder/Lukas Gufler are also fighting for good positions in the men's doubles, while Verena Hofer, Sandra Robatscher and Nina Zöggeler want to finish in the top 10 in the women's singles. The team relay, in which each of these drivers could be used, takes place on Sunday at 13 p.m.
