South Tyrol's tobogganers on the hunt for World Cup medals

For the third time after 1996 and 2012, a World Luge World Championships on artificial track will take place in Altenberg, Saxony. The South Tyroleans around racing director Armin Zöggeler want to have a say in the awarding of medals.

The sprint decisions start in Altenberg on Friday. The 162 tobogganers from 21 nations have been training in the ice track for days. The top 15 from the sprint qualification on Friday will compete for the medals. The classic racing formats and a team relay will follow on Saturday and Sunday.
