Vötter/Oberhofer miss the podium again

The season so far has not been going well for South Tyrol's women's doubles team Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer. The defending champions did not achieve the podium place they had hoped for in the second World Cup race either.

Vötter/Oberhofer ultimately had to settle for fourth place on Saturday in Igls; the South Tyroleans did not manage to get past the fifth-best time in either run. They were ultimately 4 seconds behind the victorious Austrian duo Selina Egle and Lara Michaela Klipp. The Austrians won comfortably with the fastest time in both runs, ahead of the Germans Jessica Degenhardt/Cheyenne Rosenthal (+0,740 seconds) and the Latvian duo Anda Upite/Zane Kaluma (+0,351).

Andrea Vötter from Völs and Marion Oberhofer from Rodeneck won the overall World Cup in the last two seasons. This year things have not been going well so far, with the co-favorites missing the podium in the opening race, finishing fifth. The second South Tyrolean doubles duo, Nadia Falkensteiner and Annalena Huber, finished the race in eighth place (+5 seconds).
