The best sports tobogganers have been chosen

The Italian championship in sports tobogganing took place in Olang at the weekend. There was a somewhat surprising but very confident premiere winner among the men. In the women's and doubles competition, the favorites could not be beaten.

It was Villandro's Christof Gruber's weekend. On the panoramic racetrack in Valdaora, which he didn't particularly like, he set the fastest time twice and was crowned Italian champion ahead of the favorites Tobias Müller from ASC Laugen-Tisens and Maximilian Preindl from ASC Olang. In the past, Gruber had repeatedly attracted attention for his very fast part-time times. Until this weekend, however, a completely error-free run was always missing. The fact that it worked in both runs is even more pleasing for him.

In the women's race, Silvia Runggatscher could not be defeated. The young woman from Villnöss was unbeatable with a brilliant first run and a great second run and left her competitors behind. Theresa Hilpold (ASV Pfeffersberg) was still very happy about her good performance in second and third place, closely followed by local hero Hannah Tschurtschenthaler from Olang.

In the double seat competition it was a clear free/free affair. The brother team from ASC Laugen Tisens prevailed ahead of their teammates Mair/Müller and the Olangers Preindl/Gatta. The Italian champions in the team are ASV Villanders in the youth category and ASC Laugen-Tesens in the general rankings.
