A young woman from Val Gardena showcases her full talent

The second South Tyrol Cup luge race took place in Olang on the Panorama track over the weekend. Besides the local favorites, a young athlete from the Gadertal valley particularly impressed. Overall, South Tyrol's luge athletes are well prepared for the upcoming ISSU World Championships next weekend in Winterleiten, Styria (Austria).

Lara Peccei seemed to have already found her perfect World Championship form this weekend. The young luger from Wengen/La Val left nothing to chance and, with a blistering run, left all the other women in her dust. Even a strong performance from second-placed Silvia Runggatscher of ASV Villnöss couldn't match her. Runggatscher finished in second place. Hannah Tschurtschenthaler from Olang completed the podium.

In the doubles competition, the newly formed duo of Meinhard Pircher and Marsel Gruber from ASC Laugen Tisens shone brightly. The experienced Pircher and his young partner Gruber secured victory ahead of the highly successful duo Lambacher/Schwienbacher from ASV Villnöss. The podium was completed by local favorites Preindl/Gatta, who perfectly capitalized on their home advantage and left the established competition behind.

In the men's race, everything was set for another nail-biting finish of the season. The fourth race of the season also saw a new winner. Maximilian Gräber from ASC Olang prevailed with an outstanding run, ahead of Christian Torggler from ASV Latzfons and Tobias Müller from ASC Laugen-Tisens.

In the youth team competition, ASV Villnöss won ahead of ASC Olang and ASC Jaufental. In the general team competition, the home team narrowly edged out the dominant ASC Laugen-Tisens. ASV Villnöss took third place.
