As in Winterleiten, Lambacher/Lambacher (Villnöß) were in second place after the first run, just 0,26 seconds behind the leaders Patrick Pigneter/Florian Clara (Völs/Kampill). In the final, Lambacher/Lambacher took full risk, set the best time in all three sectors and secured their third win of the season in 1.50,29:XNUMX minutes.

Half-time leaders Pigneter/Clara took second place, 0,15 seconds behind, ahead of their young South Tyrolean teammates Mathias Troger/Daniel Gruber (+1,67 seconds). It was the first doubles start for the Troger/Gruber duo in the World Cup.

The analysis “We always aim to do well in the first run, but it looks like it’s not quite working out yet. “But we are even stronger in the decisive race,” analyzes Patrick Lambacher. The overall World Cup is not an issue yet: “We are concentrating on the next race, the settlement will be settled at the finale,” says Matthias Lambacher.

“The track here is relatively easy, and that’s why it’s particularly difficult to win here,” explains Pigneter, adding: “Such duels are nice for the spectators, but a little less so for us.” A side detail: Pigneter/Clara celebrated their first World Cup victory in the 2006/2007 season. Since then, it has only been the third time (2006/07, 2016/17 and 2022/23) that the record winners (65 wins) have failed to win three races in a row.
